Orchid again

Jan 30, 2014 by

I was unpleased with my results from last weeks color project so I did it again, I used Orchid or purple as my theme in each of these pictures. Some pictures I completely redid, others I just went back and re-took.       January 24th 2014, 2:13pm, shot in my roommates room, f/5.6, Shot with a Nikon D3100, 0.3seconds This image was shot in better day light than the last post, The mail box is more focused and shot at a more interesting angle. Once again, these are my roommates perfumes and mailbox. Deep Depth:    January 24th 2014, 2:14pm, in my front yard, f/18, Shot with a Nikon D3100, Shutter Speed 1/15 second. This is my roommates Penny Board once again. This time the board was positioned differently and everything is...

Beauty-Blending/Text

Jan 23, 2014 by

Blending Modes:       Original image photo information (thumbnail 1): f/5 Shutter Speed, 1/10sec, January 22nd 2014, 5:04pm Overlay image information: f/5, Shutter Speed 1/10sec, January 22nd 2014, 5:36pm I took the image of the perfume, beads and makeup in my bathroom, the window in my bathroom lets in some really good light and the window itself has a pretty cool texture that didn’t really show up in this picture. The image of the tree branches, was actually an accidental picture, it’s not a very sharp image, the lighting is terrible but it worked well for what I did with it. I added an overlay to the perfume image with a soft light filter. I was playing around with the filters and decided I liked the tree in the window but I...

The Year of Orchid- Color

Jan 23, 2014 by

Here are four images I took with a dominant color of Orchid, the color of the year: Shallow Focus:   f/6.3 Shutter Speed: 1/8sec, January 22nd 2014, 5:44pm I used the Orchid plant as a subject to better enhance my color theme. I got a great blurred background in this image, it makes the orchid really pop.     f/5.6 shutter speed: 2.5sec January 22nd 2014 6:08pm This cute little mail box is in my roommate’s room. The objective was to get everything out of focus except the mailbox.     f/22 Shutter Speed: 2.5seconds, January 22nd 2014, 6:25pm This is my roommates Penny board in our yard. I tried to get some real deep focus by setting my aperture higher but it didn’t seem to work no matter where I placed the board....

Priority Modes-Tea Time and Music...

Jan 18, 2014 by

In my Digital imaging class we have started to learn about priority modes, we were assigned to take photos that followed the criteria for a Shallow Focus, a Deep Focus, Frozen Action and Blurred Motion image. There was no editing allowed in this assignment.   Shallow Focus:   F-Stop: f/4.2 Shutter Speed: 1/60sec Camera: Nikon D3100 Rexburg Idaho, Friday January 17th 2014,3:42pm The mug and the cookie are in focus, the further back each object becomes less in focus.     Deep Focus:   F-Stop:f/5.3 Shutter Speed:1/30sec  Camera: Nikon D3100  Manwaring Center, BYU-Idaho, Saturday January 18th 2014 at 3:31pm The deep focus picture was the most difficult for me, I had trouble finding ideas of what to shoot. This image is probably a little closer than it should be, however the front part of the...

Cut out

Jan 16, 2014 by

The following are images that I took in the past and cut out a piece of them for my Digital Imaging class. The biggest struggle with this project was being able to cut out images cleanly because, even on a mask layer it was not always clear what part of the image I was including in the cut out and which I was excluding from the cut out,I got some undesired grey and white lines in pieces of my cut out, that I’m sure I will learn to fix more effectively and in a more timely manner. All of the images below are of my littlest sister in my yard back home, shot with a Kodak c195 Easyshare Point and Shoot Camera, all images have been sized to 600×800 pixels.    This image was...

Past Photos

Jan 16, 2014 by

For my Digital Imaging class our first project was to collect a few pictures I have taken from the past, so here they are: 1.    This picture was taken March 16th 2012 at night time. The picture was taken at City Center in Salt Lake City Utah. The picture was captured with a Kodak Easy-share c195 point and shoot digital camera. The shutter speed was 1/8 of a second and the F-stop was f/3.3. City Creek is one of my very favorite places to take pictures, the overall design concept of City Creek Center is absolutely gorgeous! Image size: 800×1067 pixels. 2.   This photo was taken in the Ricks Gardens at BYU-Idaho when my sisters came for a visit. This image was captured October 11th 2013 at 3:08 pm, shot with a...

Fall 2013 Portfolio-Visual Media...

Dec 14, 2013 by

This was my final project for my visual media class, we were to create a portfolio from all the projects we created this semester. Portfolio by RisaFaye3 Project Corrections/Time spent: I spent several hours correcting the brochure project I lost count of how many. It was over 4 for sure. The layout of the In-Design document itself probably took about 3 hours. Top 3 things learned in this course: 1) Some HTML 2) How to design in Word 3) Just different ways of doing things, how to be more effective and time savvy in certain programs. I have worked with the majority of these programs for a long time but I am always learning new ways to perform design work. Future application of Visual Media: I will continue to use these programs forever to enhance myself...

A Brochure about ME!

Dec 7, 2013 by

For my Visual media class I was to design a brochure this is What I came up with: The Front View of My Brochure: This Brochure has 5 different sections, each section has a page that overlaps the previous page just enough so you can see the titles of each section. Here is what a section would look like:   Here is are screenshots of what each category will look like:   This Brochure was created to showcase me 🙂 The Process of this was long, It was difficult for me to figure out how this would print out. I designed this primarily in Indesign, however I did some photo editing in Photoshop- of course. I gathered information, pictures and then designed the layout. I then placed my images and figured out where I...

Car Accident

Dec 3, 2013 by

The following is a story written for my Writing for Communications Class. The story came from material that was given to me in class:   A student of Madison High School was pronounced dead at Eastern Idaho Medical center after being hit by a pick up truck.     Melissa J. Green and friend, Vinnie Sabre were headed to a baseball game at Madison High School on Nov. 7, the two of them were walking across the crosswalk on Emerald street  when a distracted driver hit the Green. The accident was reported to Officer John Szchepanski at 5:16 that evening.     Sabre informed Officer  Szchepanski that he heard screeching tires and saw Green hit the roof of the truck and then hit the ground quite a distance away from the vehicle.
