Flora and Fauna
This week in my Digital Imaging class we were assigned to explore Flora and Fauna- Plant and animal life. These were the pictures I was able to come up with:
Fauna:
January 29th 2014, 4:34pm, this was taken just around the corner from my house with a Nikon D3100, f/5.6, Shutter speed: 1/250second
This was shot on my street, there is a house with a bunch of cats, the people who own the cats have a really cute yard. Today I was walking by and there were a bunch of cats in a well, a few of them jumped out of the well, one of them was this orange cat. I thought the surroundings complimented the cat well. I took out a lot of blue undertones in photoshop.
Flora:
January 29th 2014, 4:49pm, Shot in the Hart building at BYU-Idaho with a Nikon D3100, f/5.6, Shutter Speed: 1/4second.
This was a plant on campus. I sat down to look at some of my pictures and saw this plant, I thought the green would contrast well from the gloomy winter scenery pictures.
Flora:
January 29th 2014, 4:26pm, Shot outside my house with a Nikon D3100, f/5.6, Shutter Speed: 1/320second
I really liked how the red scrub stood out from the other scrubs. This is just in my yard, I had to walk through like a foot of snow to get this picture.
Fauna:
January 29th 2014, 5:31pm, in the Benson building at BYU-Idaho, Shot with a Nikon D3100, f/5.6, Shutter speed 1/13 second.
This picture was a little more difficult for me to get because was shooting from outside a glass window. There were a bunch of birds behind the glass, also it was more difficult because the birds didn’t like to stay still. I think this one turned out really nicely though, It has a nice blur in the background as well.

Hi Marisa I like the pictures you shot. I think my favorite is the flora with the scrubs. I really like the placement of each scrub because it gives your shot some depth when you see one close, on in the middle, and on farther away. Good job!
