Portraits from the Porch
I got to go home this weekend and see my family, This weeks assignment was to take portraits, I have some good little models I call my sisters. All of these pictures were taken on the porch at my house back in Utah.
Cat Torturer: Individual Environmental
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, 6:00pm, f/5.0, Shutter speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
My sister Adalee refused to cooperate unless she could use the cat, so as my environmental portrait I used Adalee doing what Adalee spends a great deal of her time doing, torturing the cat. Poor Daphne.
Little “E”: Individual Head and Shoulders
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, 6:01pm, f/5.0, Shutter Speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
Eden is very good with pictures, we wrapped a blanket around her so she wouldn’t be cold and she just did whatever I told her to do. I really like how well her Eyes came out in this picture. She is my youngest sister and we call her “Little ‘E'” hence the name of this portrait.
Camera Loving: Individual Full Body
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, 6:08pm, f/5.0, Shutter Speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
Doing full body shots of Eden was hilarious, She kept striking poses and and it worked, they were funny yet such Eden poses. This is one of the only poses I actually coached Eden on during the full body section of the shoot.
Sharing and Caring: Group Activity
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, f/5.0, Shutter Speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
To bribe my sisters to stay outside and continue to take pictures, we made hot chocolate, this is Adalee sharing her cocoa with Eden and Eden laughing at her. They are so adorable and you can tell they love each other very much.
Pretty little girl dreaming: Individual Side Composition
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, 6:04pm, f/5.6, Shutter Speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
This was one of the first pictures I took of Eden, I coached her on where to put her head and where to look. I think the background blur on this photo came out the very best. I feel like this portrait is very clean but I find it very beautiful, my sisters are beautiful.
Sisterly Love: Group Posed
Eagle Mountain Utah, Sunday February 9th 2014, 6:29pm, f/4.5, Shutter Speed 1/50sec, Nikon D3100*
Like I said before they love each other very much, This was somewhat posed but their smiles are genuine. I’m glad I got to photograph two of my very favorite little people.
