Designing for The Business Expo

I am currently taking an Events Management class, I think this is what I want to do with my future so I figured I better take the class because I don’t like wasting any time when it comes to my future. I feel the need to test the waters now. I am throughly enjoying the class.

My teacher assigned a group of us to coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce to plan and produce the Business Expo this coming April. (Finals week/ move out week it’s going to be a CRAZY week!) With my design experience I was entitled to the position of the group “Designer”. I’m excited to start more design projects soon.

The Chamber of Commerce has been producing the Business Expo for quite a few years now and yet they do not have a permanent logo. Our group offered to present some logos that could potentially be used year after year for the Business Expo. In our group we split off and designed our own logos to present to the Chamber of Commerce. My group was really impressed with what I came up with, they were amazed by the fact that it didn’t take me long at all to design any of these logos.

Here are my Logos:

Fun Business Expo Logo

Fun Business Expo Logo. I like this Logo and it was a favorite of the group, however I feel that although it’s fun and exciting it’s not very Business like.

Business Expo Logo – This Logo I spent more time on, my group was blown away when they found out that I designed the image in the middle of the text, I really didn’t think it was that big of a deal but I appreciated the fact that they thought it was really impressive I designed this myself. This was my personal favorite logo because I feel it is more professional looking, it’s clean and visually appealing.

I have had experience with Graphic Design since I was 8 years old. It all started when my mom decided to finish her degree in Graphic Design through an online program. I was so excited when we had a copy of Photoshop on our home computer and enjoyed playing around and learning the Adobe Photoshop Program. I used those skills throughout programs and associations I’ve been involved in, I also learned a lot of skills in the Adobe Creative Suite while I was in the Interior Design Program. Being able to work with Adobe programs is a very marketable skill that would benefit nearly anyone in their profession, I look forward to using the skills I learned in my life in my future career. I love design!

The Logos in this post were created in Adobe Illustrator (When designing logos I recommend this program)

Please give me your opinions on these logos and lets hope my designs are selected for the Business Expo.
